New Logo

Quick update guys:

I have a new Profile picture / logo.
Created by a friend of mine.
He is into artwork and I think it is a pretty nice logo. I updated all my profile pictures on all my gamer accounts already.
I even updated the logo on this site.
Thanks @Fermeboy!

What Games Are Like For Someone Who Doesn't Play Games

My girlfriend likes to play a board game. One day I said: "why don't we try a videogame?"
I started an (easy?) game which I thought she could handle. This was Spyro, a forgiving, non-violent platformer game in a fun setting for a non-gamer girl.
I quickly realized that the controls (Xbox controller) were already difficult.
She played a couple of hours now and she is learning.
Simpler games like Tetris, are easier for her, she even can play Tetris better then me. That is because the controls are easy and well remembered. remembering buttons are one of the issues if non-gamers plays more triple A titles.

As a gamer, you don't realize that basic things are difficult for non-gamers. like the controls (walking with 1 joystick and looking around with the other). Sometimes, it was difficult for her to know where to go. Both in the sense of direction, and her anticipation on what the game expected to do next.

Above video of Razbuten is very interesting. It explains which things are dificult for non-gamers and how you a teach a non-gamer to game.
